I cut the leave and plant immediately. Only one of the 12 pieces has a new shoot.

I repotted my sanseveria two days ago after letting the newly purchased plant adjust to its new environment for two weeks before attempting the repotting. In the condition I bought it, it was in a grow bag so I wanted to give it a more permanent home, hence the repotting. The mother soil is clay that seems hard when dry. I placed the hardened mother soil in some water so as to loosen the outer soil only, so that I could fit it into my pot. After immersion in water for 1 hour, the soil had become very very mushy. I removed the outer layer of mother soil, about an inch on all sides and shoved that mushy mess into my pot, and patched the sides with a less dense soil(clay+sand). It appears to me, two days later, that the leaves of my plant are curling and moving further apart from each other. I haven't watered them during or after repotting as it was so mushy with the water soak, it didn't look like it needs water for a few days. Even the next day when I stuck my finger in the soil it was mushy and very wet. Did I make a mistake by wetting and retaining the mother soil? How can I best remedy this situation?

I did try to propagate before watching here your tips, so I´ll try again following them carefully.
Said that, my cuttings became all yellowish, and no rooting at all. Should I water them often, or maybe use a plastic bag to keep more humidity?
    Thanks in advance!

PS: What accent is that, Spanish maybe? I love it!
